One of the most demanding and impressive complications of watchmaking is presented in a highly sophisticated and contemporary Royal Oak design in this astonishing timepiece from Audemars Piguet which arranges a vast number of indications into a legible system with excellent contrasting emphasis. The perpetual calendar function indicates day and date in sub-dials at nine and three o’clock respectively as well as month and leap year combined at the 12 o’clock position and weeks by central hand. With black counters, black inner bezel and white gold luminescent Royal Oak hands and hour-markers, the slate gray “Grande Tapisserie” dial also shows central hours and minutes while the aventurine moon phase display is located at six o’clock. Made entirely of black ceramic, the 41mm case with glareproofed sapphire crystal front provides 20m water resistance and measures only 9,5mm in thickness owing to its extra-thin self-winding movement. Visible through the glareproofed sapphire crystal case back, the 5134 caliber with 374 components and 38 jewels offers 40-hour power reserve while beating at 19,800 vibrations per hour.
