SOLD
This Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” Alaska Project Ref:311.32.42.30.04.001 New Old Stock, it was a display model. It comes with tools, box and undated paper. Limited Edition of 1970 pieces.
At its heart beats the Calibre 1861, the natural evolution of the renowned Calibre 861, which graced many Moonwatch models before. Enhanced with more corrosion-resistant rhodium-plating, this movement maintains a frequency of 21,600 v/h. The inclusion of the shuttle cam and Delrin® chronograph brake showcases Omega’s dedication to preserving the integrity of the chronograph seconds wheel, preventing abrasion and fatigue.
This timepiece is a realization of Omega’s most innovative dreams, born in 2008 as part of the “Alaska II” project. Built upon a “standard” Speedmaster, it features a modified dial and hands complemented by an outer anodized aluminum “thermal shield.” This groundbreaking design equips the watch to endure temperatures ranging from -148C to +260C in lunar or spatial atmospheres.
Versatility meets style with the inclusion of a steel bracelet and an additional long white Velcro strap. Originally conceived to tackle extreme temperatures on the dark side of the moon, the white dial, chosen for its ability to reflect the sun’s heat, has become a coveted choice among discerning collectors.
The Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” Alaska Project Ref:311.32.42.30.04.001 is not just a watch; it’s a piece of horological history. Own a limited edition masterpiece that combines heritage, innovation, and functionality – a true symbol of Omega’s enduring legacy in space exploration and watchmaking excellence.
